The special of the Moku Buki Makiwara are the individual mounting solutions for each customer and the freely selectable strikingpower. All boards are made by hand in the correct cone. Indoor flexible ash is used, on outdoor areas weather-resistant black locust is prefered. The attachment is crafted by blacksmith and the superior leather impact-cushioning manufactures the shoemaker. As durable cushion-insert, recyclet rubber is used.

Makiwara are indispensable training devices for power and the penetration of the various techniques. They are the counterpart of the Western sandbag but function quite differently. The flexible board favor the joints and gives immediately biomechanical feedback about the correctness of a technique. Beginners usually detect a labile wrist or poorly hardened striking surfaces.

Rustic wooden dumbbell from oak with an 60 cm ash-handle, approx 5 kg. A universal training partner for life. Indestructible by hammering in a two-sided corrugated sheet. The straight-grown ash handle was permanently wedged in the weight.

This Chi-Moku is the ecological brother of Chi-Ishi. In times before the invention of concrete, it was extremely difficult A: to secure enough rock to a stick and B: to use other materials such as expensive metal for the weight. Hurling these man-sized weights is an ancient sporting pastime in Pakistan and India. These clubs are probably the model for the somewhat martial-looking Chi Ishi from the Ryukyu Islands.

This bamboo rod is a training device in the area of hardening, for strengthening the skin and strengthening the bone structure.

The hardness can be easily adjusted using a rubber ring. The individual thin rods have the advantage of minimizing bone splinters and joint injuries because the hit surface is slightly deformed on impact.

The Jow from Moku-Buki is based on the recipes in the old Bubishi and contains various medicinal herbs from TCM (excerpts):
